Console tables

At Shogun, we're very fond of this little piece of furniture known as the console, and we've put together a very large selection for you.

The console has always served as a decorative support. Originally semi-circular in marble or stone, fixed directly to a wall in the Greek and Roman civilizations, they were used to support sculptures and urns. In the Renaissance, it was used to hold beautiful mirrors, porcelain or works of art. Later, in the 18th century, it was used to hold candlesticks, candelabras and flower vases. It was in the 19th century that the console took on its current use as an occasional table in living rooms and entrance halls, and became a practical piece of furniture.

As you can see, our consoles have a dual function: they're designed to showcase your most beautiful decorative objects, while at the same time fitting into small spaces thanks to their shallow depth. And whatever your decorating style, we've got the pieces for you: industrial, Scandinavian, navy, Chinese, art deco...
