In an Indonesian village where the art of working with local woods is strongly present, the mayor in an eco-design approach proposed to the artisans wishing to earn additional income to create these animals from bamboo roots as well as from wood scraps such as teak or mindi. 

Each sculpture is handmade. Although made from a model, they are unique. The craftsman brings the giraffe to life by taking into account the initial shape of the wood, with the work on the root rhizomes providing the touch of originality.

The giraffe is made from a variety of wood types, including teak and mindi.
