In an Indonesian village where the art of working with local woods is strongly present, the mayor in an eco-design approach proposed to the artisans wishing to earn additional income to create these animals from bamboo roots as well as from wood scraps such as teak or mindi. 

Each sculpture is handmade. Although made from a model, they are unique. The craftsman brings the hedgehog to life by taking into account the initial shape of the wood, with the work on the root rhizomes ideally interpreting the spikes.

The hedgehog is made from a single piece of wood.
